Fee: Free, but reservations strongly encouragedJoin us for a special poetry gathering featuring UAE-based poets and writers sharing their work across languages, experiences, and perspectives. This poetry reading will take place during Kutubna’s Indoor Picnic Day. Please bring your picnic blanket and a plant or two. The event is free but reservations help us plan ahead.

Ahmad Bin Sulayem
Ahmad Bin Sulayem is a bilingual poet whose writing journey began with a personal project of daily reflections on his childhood in the UAE. He recently made his debut performance in Echoes of Modernity, a contemporary poetry evening held as part of the 100 Years of Sharjah Libraries initiative in collaboration with House of Wisdom. He has participated in discussions exploring the journeys of writers and poets and discovered his passion for writing through the Connecting with Our Ancestors workshop in 2024. Beyond poetry, Ahmad is a PetroPhysicist with over 15 years of experience in the energy sector and a graduate of Khalifa University.
Maryam Al Shawab
Maryam Al Shawab is a poet, writer, and librarian from Dubai. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media Sciences with a minor in Applied Psychology. Her work has been featured in the poetry collection Fields of Poetry and the short story anthology Tales of Wandering Hearts. She performed her poem The Librarian at House of Wisdom in Sharjah in celebration of 100 years of Sharjah Libraries. She is currently studying French.
Asma Al Jailani
Asma A.J is an Emirati writer and poet based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Her first published work, the poetry collection Constellations of Home, was released in 2017. The following year, her short story The Falling Year was published as part of the anthology November Falls with Zimbell House Publishing.
Ali Al Bolooshi
Ali Al Bolooshi is a graduate of English Language and Literature from the American University of Sharjah. A passionate contributor to the humanities, he has been involved in creative writing publications and stage acting performances. Through his work, he believes in the power of poetry and the arts to inspire youth and contribute to cultural growth.
Amandeep Ahuja
Amandeep Ahuja was born in London, United Kingdom, and moved to Dubai with her family at the age of six. She is a Political Economist by education, a fitness professional by qualification, and a writer by passion. Her writing explores the thoughts and experiences of her generation, touching on identity, society, and the complexities of modern life. She currently lives in Dubai with her family and her White German Shepherd.
Chandrama Deshmukh
Chandrama Deshmukh is a Dubai-based poet, author, playwright, and performance artist. She is the author of four poetry collections, including A Teaspoon of Stars and Moonlit Monochrome, exploring themes of identity, lineage, and the inner world. Her work has been featured in Scroll.in and Rolling Stone India, and she has received several literary awards, including the Mili Dueli Balkan Poetry Award and the Songs of Peace World Anthology Award. An active member of the UAE’s literary community, Chandrama has performed at events including the Emirates Literature Festival, Alserkal Arts Foundation, and Theatre of Digital Arts.
