A three-part workshop in Nastaliq calligraphy

Workshop 1 – Free-Form Calligraphy
Writing beyond rules
Participants explore writing a single word in multiple ways, focusing on form, beauty, and personal expression — without following traditional rules.

Workshop 2 – Creative Composition
Balancing meaning and layout
Participants select meaningful words and, with guidance, develop unique visual compositions.

Workshop 3 – Calligraphy Techniques
Exploring diverse writing techniques
Participants will experiment with various methods including writing with Qalams of different sizes, layering ink, and adding texture.

About the artist

Ali Pasandideh is a master calligrapher with over 26 years of artistic practice. A member of the Iranian Calligraphers Association, his works have been exhibited across Iran, Turkey, Oman, Switzerland, and the UAE.

His refined, minimal approach reflects universal themes through the lens of Arabic script, often drawing inspiration from Persian poetry. In 2024, he was selected as one of the 20 artists honored for Etihad Airways’ 20th anniversary.
